VON - Peel - The Telephone Reassurance Program

The Telephone Reassurance Program is a free service from VON Community Support Department, maintained by volunteers who make daily telephone calls and periodic home visits to seniors who live alone in the Peel area. The volunteers check on the client's well being and provide a connection that helps prevent social isolation. If the volunteer feels that his/her client has further needs, he or she contacts the community support service department team, which in turn assists the client in obtaining appropriate services. VON is looking for volunteers for this program. If you feel you can help. These calls can be done from anywhere, one or two hours a week is all that is needed.
The following languages are needed for female clients
Italian, , Tagalog, Pilipino, Russian, Arabic, Vietnamese, Farsi, Hungarian, Portuguese, Croatian, Turkish, Polish
The following languages are needed for male clients
Italian, Tagalog, Slovenian, Spanish, Portuguese, Cantonese
