NEWBORN SPECIALIST
Job Description - Newborn Specialists are called upon to help recovering mothers just after childbirth. They typically come into the home for a few weeks after a child/children is brought home and help the parents with such areas as learning to feed the baby (positioning, etc.), nighttime feedings (including getting up to help the mother if she is breastfeeding), light housekeeping, teaching bathing and other baby hygiene skills, etc. Many Newborn Specialists may offer additional services (e.g., helping with meals, laundry, etc., and these services should be discussed directly between families and candidates.). Newborn Specialists are often retained for even longer after a family realizes the tremendous benefits and convenience they offer.
