Job Description:
Expediting the buying of raw materials and parts for production and assembly
Work with MRP (standard parts), PRP (custom parts) and MRO (Maintenance Repair Operation) to determine parts needed to be purchased and manufactured, internally or externally.
Expedite open purchase orders ensuring delivery of purchased components as required by production
Locate and track documentation for deliveries
Draw up Request for Quote (RFQ) for potential new suppliers
Conduct occasional quality visits, for both current and potential suppliers
Prepare documentation and coordinate return of goods
Education/Training:
AS or BS degree preferably in business.
Required:
2+ years experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Proficient with computer - MRP software (Baan preferably) and MS Office
Excellent time management skills.
Minimal travel is expected with this position.
Moderate travel is an expectation of this position.
