Good Beginnings - A Parent/Infant Support Program
Help new overwhelmed parents (who have little or no family support) by providing practical assistance and emotional support for 3 hours per week during the early months of a newborn's homecoming. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Visiting is done at the family's home, with the parent present.
Volunteers Can:
•Provide emotional support to the parent of a newborn.
•Hold the infant; play with the infant or the parent’s other children.
•Watch the baby while the parent takes a nap or shower or has a break, as long as the parent does not leave the home.
•Accompany the parent and baby to appointments and outings.
